Learn to Salsa volumes 1 & 2 are the best
instructional videos that I have ever purchased or seen,
to date. the scenes on preparations for the
videos, and student interviews add to the
content with no loss to the instructional salsa
combinations. In fact, both volumes are so
professional that they could be played on TV,
without editing the quality, as say "View an
Hour of Salsa," etc. The story is there. The
selection of music was also perfect for the
videos. The title of Executive Producer and
Director is most definitely the correct title
for Hythum.
I'm not aware of salsa instructions on a DVD.
If this is a first, a precedent has been set. I
highly recommend the DVD version for people that
have a DVD player, because one can play back or
run step by step without worrying about breaking
a tape, as in a video cassette. The idea for an
outside location was great, and I'm sure it
presented some technical challenges. The
lighting and contras was so perfect that one
could clearly see the details of the both the
hand positioning and the steps of the
combination.
The
verbal instructions, as in all of your classes
(Tenia & Raul), were detailed count by count.
The body motions were perfect count by count
(even in slow motion, i.e., click-by-click on
the DVD). Even though Tenia could teach the
man's part and Raul could teach the lady's part,
more power was brought to the videos by having
two experts describe each the man's part and
the
lady's part. The combinations in both videos
are just right for the beginning and
intermediate/advanced students. In class, I'm
always focusing on the man's part (this takes
all of my attention). Now, in addition to the
man's part, I can look at the lady's part and
perhaps become a better lead.
Thanks for making the videos.

I was thinking on my way home - how much
I enjoy your class and your style of teaching
- you are
totally
fun and professional - what a class act... But
then late last night I watched your two videos
I bought - you are STUNNING and so poised
throughout - I loved it...- and what an
incredible job of producing by Hythum. I'm
just really proud to know you guys and be
associated with you!
Thanks again - for all you do for the
circle of friends in our salsa world - you are
the best.

I'm
glad you're making a dance video, Tenia. Now the
rest of the world will know what I already know,
what an awesome dancer you are!!!!Let them see
you shine!!!!

I just finished watching the "Learn to Salsa
Vol. 2"DVD. It is excellent!! I enjoyed it so
much! The lessons are very clear and easy to
follow. The sound quality is great. I really
like that you filmed it outdoors. The rooftop
view is great! Other salsa videos that I have
where the lessons are filmed indoors now seem to
me somewhat confining. With your lessons filmed
outdoors it sends a message that you can take
salsa anywhere! To patios, to rooftops, to the
street, to outdoor festivals. It's not just for
clubs. I also like how you integrated the whole
salsa environment into the DVD. You got your
lessons, classes, instructors, students,
friends, the club scene, and all the fun that
goes with dancing. Moreover, you put a lot of
your personalities into this and I think that
makes it stand out far and away better than any
of the other salsa videos that I've seen.
People relate to people through personalities.
You come across as very "relateable". (I don't
think that's a word... but I think you know what
I mean.) I have 7 other salsa instructional
videos and I enjoy them all, but yours is
better.
Congratulations on a quality product that is so
enjoyable to watch.
