Tenia has been dancing salsa for 5 years. Prior to salsa, she studied jazz and danced with a Bay Area performance group. She also studied dance in Southern Spain, where she learned flamenco and the Sevillanas. In the ballroom arena, she has trained and competed in the five American latin dances-- Rumba, bolero, swing, cha cha, and mambo.

Aside from several commercials and television appearances, she can be seen dancing in the 1998 feature films, "Dance With Me", starring Vanessa Williams and Chayanne, as well as "Hard Time", starring Burt Reynolds.

Tenia and her partner won 1st Place in the Mayan Theatre's 1997 Amateur Salsa competition, She has since performed with Tito Puente, has opened for Poncho Sanchez and has performed endless shows with her partner and her Female dance group, Stiletto Salsa.

Tenia can be found teaching salsa throughout the South Bay Beach area, where she has successfully taught classes for the past 4 years and is recognized as an accomplished and favored Instructor. Some of her classes are known to be the largest in Los Angeles, and she handles a class of 140 students with ease and grace!

Tenia also enjoys long-distance running and has completed 3 Los Angeles Marathons as well as The San Francisco Marathon. She has been blessed, knock on wood, with legs that can withstand all!!
